Riverstone HS and Wyndham College non-operational

Riverstone High School and Wyndham College will remain non-operational tomorrow Thursday 27 August due to confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Riverstone High School and Wyndham College were non-operational for on-campus learning, today Wednesday 26 August 2020, as a precautionary measure pending confirmation of COVID-19 test results.

NSW Health have advised today that the people concerned have tested positive to COVID-19.

The schools will remain non-operational tomorrow, Thursday 27 August 2020, for the on-site attendance of staff and students, to allow time for the school to complete the contact tracing process.

The NSW Department of Education and NSW Health have been working closely to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff is maintained. This work has included identifying close contacts of the confirmed cases and communicating directly with them regarding their requirement to self-isolate.

While the school sites are non-operational, learning materials are available through the department’s Learning from home website or for Year 12 students, via the HSC hub.

Wyndham College's HSC trial exams will be rescheduled and the school will contact those students who had their HSC drama performance today.

NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or develops any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 clinics.

Further information will be provided tomorrow advising when the schools will resume on-site learning.

Further information on COVID-19 is available on the NSW Health website.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times. As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
