Results are in for the class of 2019

The wait is finally over for the HSC cohort of 2019, with 75,000 students across NSW excitedly receiving their exam results from 6am this morning.

Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said she was thrilled that more than 1,449 students have received the highly accomplished ‘All Round Achievers Award’ for scoring the highest possible band in 10 units of study, and 790 have been identified as ‘Top Achievers’ for earning results in the highest band.

“HSC students right across NSW should be feeling very proud of themselves this morning, because regardless of their results, they have come to the end of a very challenging year and now it is time to start thinking about what lies ahead,” Ms Mitchell said.

“I want to congratulate each and every one of the 75,000 students who completed HSC courses this year.

“You should feel incredibly happy with your results today; I am sure your teachers, school and family are very proud of you.”

Ms Mitchell added that the HSC prepares students for a number of opportunities after school.

“Whether you are heading off to vocational training or university, or plan to travel or work, the opportunities that the HSC affords you here, and around the world, are endless,” she said.

“Whilst it is inevitable some of you may not have had the result you hoped for today, there are a number of different pathways available now to help you reach your goals.”

This year’s Year 12 students sat a total of 123 exams, including the examination of 17 new syllabuses in English, Mathematics and Science.

“Completing your HSC is an incredible milestone and I wish you all the best for life after school, as you take all that you have learnt with you onto your next chapter,” Ms Mitchell said.

“The world is your oyster.”
