COVID-19 update – BWSC Umina campus remains operational

A student from Brisbane Water Secondary College, Umina campus has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was not at school while infectious.

The Department of Education is working closely with NSW Health in responding to COVID-19 cases and acts on the expert advice of NSW Health.

A student from Brisbane Water Secondary College, Umina campus has tested positive for COVID-19. However, the department has been advised by NSW Health that the student has not been at school during the time they were infectious as they have been self-isolating.

The school will take action in accordance with NSW Health advice on a confirmed case of COVID-19 where there has been an impact on our school.

In this case there is no action required.

It is a personal matter for those involved and they will be supported directly by NSW Health. We wish the student a quick recovery.

Any person assessed as being a ‘close contact’ of the student concerned will be contacted by NSW Health directly and given appropriate advice. NSW Health have processes in place to determine those who are a 'close contact'.
