The Department of Education has been advised by NSW Health that Lidcombe Public School has a student who has been attending school who has tested positive for COVID-19.

The NSW Department of Education and NSW Health have been working closely to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff is maintained. This work has included identifying close contacts of the confirmed case and communicating directly with them regarding their requirement to self-isolate.

The students and staff identified as close contacts have been notified by NSW Health and have been asked to self-isolate for the required period.

NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or develops any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness be tested at one of the COVID-19 clinics.

The school will be thoroughly cleaned prior to resuming on site learning. Further advice will be provided tomorrow advising when the school will resume on-site learning.

Further information on COVID-19 is available on the NSW Health website.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times. As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
