The Pink Jets aerobics team are in training for the National Championships.

They took out the State title in Sydney on June 23, and are in intense training for the Nationals on August 25.

Teacher and aerobics co-ordinator Ainslie Ledwos is delighted the current team of eight Year 5 and 6 girls is maintaining a long-held standard.

“In the twelve years the program’s been running, we’ve been State champions nine times and National champions four times,” said Ms Ledwos.

“It’s great to win, but the main aim is the fun and fitness the team get from the preparation and camaraderie.”

Two of the original 2008 team are still competing at international level.

The program is supported by MSP Photography and Club Maitland City.
