In today’s digitally connected world, online safety is everyone’s responsibility; students, teachers and parents all play a role in protecting themselves and their information.

Cybermarvel is here to help. The Education Department’s online safety awareness program brings together a wealth of engaging resources to build knowledge and skills across the whole school community.

It offers something for all ages:

• Cybermarvel offers stage-based learning linked to curriculum outcomes, so every student can grow their digital confidence.

• Early learners start by taking small steps, such as seeking help from trusted adults and managing unsuitable content.

• Stage 2 students learn to be “eSafe kids” by creating strong passphrases, protecting privacy, and spotting scams. They also become “digital detectives,” exploring how apps are designed to hold attention.

• Stage 3 learners apply their safety skills to real-life challenges, including responding to hacked accounts, evaluating online information and handling peer pressure with integrity.

• Years 7 and 8 can access two on-demand classes: Thriving online – staying safe in a connected world and My place in a digital world – protecting privacy and respecting boundaries.

Cybermarvel isn’t just for students. Teachers can take part in professional learning on Artificial Intelligence, exploring challenges like scams, deepfakes and technology misuse.

Parents and carers can join free webinars from the eSafety Commissioner on topics such as screen time, cyberbullying and social media use. Families with young children can also explore Cyber Playtime videos that introduce cyber safety basics in a fun, age-appropriate way.

With classroom resources, student worksheets, teacher guide, and family-friendly tools, Cybermarvel gives the whole community the chance to build safer digital habits.
