Lindfield Learning Village’s new leadership will seek community input on the school’s future direction as part of its push to ensure the school is meeting the needs of local students and offering them opportunities to thrive and succeed.
New principal Ben Rekic has been joined by two new deputy principals Dennielle Woskanian for Secondary and Michelle Gleeson for Primary.
The new executive is developing a strategic plan for the school which will be informed by the community consultation and evidence-based teaching practices.
Principal Ben Rekic said consultation was a crucial first step in understanding how Lindfield Learning Village could better meet the needs of its local students and families.
“We want to hear directly from our local community, and to ensure that current and future parents have a say in the strategic direction of the school,” he said.
The first stage includes a survey, followed by focus group interviews. Local families and residents can complete the survey online until 6 July.
It is expected the new four-year school plan for 2026-2029 will be in place by the end of the year.
Since arriving at the school late last year, Mr Rekic has been impressed with what he’s seen, particularly the school’s high impact teaching strategies and strong results, including being in the top 10 of the state for HSC achievement.
“Our students have access to a well-rounded offering of subjects, and a wide range of extra-curricular and sporting opportunities, supported by highly dedicated staff,” he said.
“The combination of high impact, evidence-based teaching with opportunities for students to explore their interests is reflected in excellent HSC and Year 9 NAPLAN results.”
