Kingscliff Public School students have swum, run and jumped their way to a clean sweep of the North Coast’s major primary school sporting titles.

The school was recently crowned the 2026 North Coast PSSA champion school in athletics, adding to its swimming and cross-country titles.

Kingscliff also secured champion school honours at district and zone level in all three sports before progressing to the North Coast carnivals.

The achievement placed Kingscliff at the top of a region encompassing about 135 schools and capped an unprecedented year in the school’s proud sporting history.

Deputy Principal, Belinda Mirana, said the results reflected the talent and determination of the students, as well as the support surrounding them.

“Kingscliff Public School has a proud sporting history, but to be named champion school at district, zone and North Coast level across swimming, cross country and athletics in the same year is an extraordinary achievement,” Ms Mirana said.

“Our students have shown incredible commitment and determination, and their success has been supported every step of the way by our dedicated teachers, coaches and families.”

More than 40 Kingscliff students have qualified to represent the North Coast at NSW PSSA championships this year.

The school fielded more competitors at the NSW PSSA Swimming Championships than any other government, Catholic or independent school in the state.

Among its standout competitors is student Remi who has qualified for NSW PSSA championships in seven different sports.

“This is an extraordinary achievement reflecting both talent and versatility,” Ms Mirana said.

Kingscliff’s sporting year is not over yet, with the school’s rugby union team heading to Sydney to contest the finals of the Bryan Palmer Shield.

The team is hoping to add a NSW PSSA title to an already exceptional year for the school.
