Schools and parents and carers have helped Education Week 2020 capture the Twitterverse with #EdWeek20 trending in the Sydney area on Tuesday.

At the midway mark of the week-long celebration of NSW public education, more than 1,700 pieces of content have been tagged with #EdWeek20 across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and videos with that hashtag have accumulated more than 1.9 million views.

Among the favourite posts to date was a short film by Oyster Bay Public School, which shows what happens when children impersonate staff to plan education week.

A performance featuring award-winning Australian singer-songwriter Lior and 110 students from the NSW Public Schools performing ensembles has also been a hit online after featuring in the virtual launch of Education Week on Monday.

As the nation marked Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day on Tuesday, schools across NSW, such as Keiraville Public School, proudly shared on social media the various ways they Acknowledge Country.
