  • Free flu vaccine for children under 5 years

    NSW Health is offering free influenza (flu) vaccine for children between 6 months and under 5 years of age to protect them and the wider community from flu.

    More than 140 community preschools in NSW have been awarded funding through the 2018 Community Grants program, and will receive up to $7,000 each, Minister for Early Childhood Education Sarah Mitchell has recently announced.

  • NSW Budget 2018-19 – Good news for the early childhood sector

    The NSW government has allocated $197.8 million to extend its investment in early childhood education under Start Strong, to ensure NSW children can access a high-quality preschool program for two years.

    This investment will support an increase in participation rates for three-year-olds and improve affordability for families through a reduction of fees.

  • May Consultations Wrap Up

    Following another round of sector consultation sessions in May, staff from the department were delighted to see those of you who were able to attend one of the 12 sessions held across the state.

  • ACEL Conference in NSW debut

    Services, providers and sector representatives are invited to register for the 3rd annual ACEL Early Childhood Conference in Sydney on 9 - 10 August, “From Child to Citizen” will be held in NSW for the first time.
