ACEL Conference in NSW debut

Services, providers and sector representatives are invited to register for the 3rd annual ACEL Early Childhood Conference in Sydney on 9 - 10 August, “From Child to Citizen” will be held in NSW for the first time.

The conference will be officially opened by the Minister for Early Childhood Education Sarah Mitchell.

A range of prominent keynote speakers will help bring the event to life, including the following early childhood education experts:

  • Pasi Sahlberg, Professor of Education, Gonski Institute for Education, UNSW
  • Sue Dockett, Adjunct Professor of Early Childhood, CSU
  • Nathan Wallis, Neuroscience Educator
  • Rachel Cowper, Leader Inspiring Scotland
  • Michael Rich, Founder & Director of the Centre on Media & Child Health

The NSW Department of Education is the major partner of this event in 2018 and 2019. Through this conference will work together with the sector to share and consolidate thinking around key themes including: participation and equality, workforce and leadership, supporting vulnerable children, and growing business management skills

The department is also providing support for early childhood educators living in rural and remote NSW to attend this year's Early Childhood Conference. Successful applicants will receive a full two-day conference registration plus an allowance of up to $400 for travel/accommodation expenses.
