Regional and Remote consultation

We are currently seeking input from early childhood education providers on how best to support the needs of families, children and communities in remote and regional areas. This will help ensure we meet our target to increase participation and provide universal access to early childhood services across the state.

According to the latest evidence on early childhood education, children who participate in quality programs are more likely to arrive at school equipped with the social, cognitive and emotional skills they need to engage in learning.

Children and their families living in regional and remote NSW experience a range of challenges and issues, which has prompted us to develop a strategy to guide us on how best to meet the needs of local early childhood services and communities.

Your views on the Regional and Remote strategy are crucial for the department to gain further insights and ensure the needs of children from all communities in NSW are better understood and supported.

Feedback is being sought from peak bodies, government agencies and ECE services.
