Early Childhood Education Workforce Survey now open
The deadline for the ECE Workforce Survey has been extended. Educators have until 14 July to complete the Survey.
All NSW early childhood education services will have recently received an email from Deloitte Access Economics, with a link to the Early Childhood Education Workforce Survey.
Why are we doing this survey?
Invaluable insights captured by the department from educators contributed directly to the development of the department’s Early Childhood Education Workforce Strategy 2018-2022.
To inform future initiatives under the Workforce Strategy, the department would like to hear from early childhood educators to gain a deeper understanding of what attracts people to work in the ECE sector and identify the factors impacting the likelihood of retention in their roles.
We are seeking to understand the ways educators engage with ongoing professional development and to identify if there are any barriers to maximising their potential.
How can early childhood educators participate?
Services will receive an email from Deloitte Access Economics who have been engaged to conduct the survey. All educators working in ECE in NSW are invited to respond and can do so by clicking on the link in the email.
Responses to the survey will be anonymous and will be used only for capturing insights into the ECE workforce.
Why is this survey being undertaken?
Our aim is to engage and collate responses and perspectives from as many educators as possible, reflecting the broadest possible group. We are seeking views from educators in preschools, long day care services, family day care and mobile preschools.
If you are an early childhood educator and have not received a copy of the email, please contact your service director to access the link to the survey.
Alternatively, if you have any problems accessing the survey, or questions about completing the survey or about the project, please contact the department’s Information and Enquiries line on 1800 619 113 or email ECEC.Policy@det.nsw.edu.au
Act now: The survey will now be open for responses until 14 July 2019.
