Parent awareness campaign kicks off in January

In a bid to continue sharing knowledge from the sector with the broader community, the department will launch a new parent information and awareness campaign in January to support the NSW Government’s Start Strong policy, and to increase awareness of the importance of early childhood education (ECE) among families.

The campaign will feature advertising in print and radio, along with digital advertising and social media elements. There will be a range of interactive content, including videos featuring children from several services across metro and regional areas. The department selected a handful of services representing a broad range of socio-economic groups as well as diverse community backgrounds

As well as driving parents to the department’s website to read more, the primary purpose of the campaign is to reinforce the importance of all children participating in a preschool program, especially in the year before school.

In the January 2019 ‘Awareness and Consideration’ phase of the campaign, messages will focus on the longer term outcomes for children. The advertising will be supported by a PR and editorial campaign, working with thought leaders and ECE professionals to reiterate the message to parents.

More information about the campaign will be shared with services in the New Year.
