Capital Works Grants Program - 2020 round now open

Eligible not for profit organisations can apply now for the 2020 Start Strong Capital Works Grants Program.

23 June 2020

Applications for the 2020 Start Strong Capital Works Grants Program are now open.

Eligible not for profit organisations can apply for funding to build, renovate or extend their facilities to deliver a community preschool, or purchase a vehicle for a mobile preschool to cater for increasing enrolments.

As part of the 2019 election commitment, the NSW Government announced $20 million in funding over four years for new and existing community preschools to build, renovate or extend their facilities to cater for increasing enrolments across the state.

Ten million dollars has been committed for the 2020 Start Strong Capital Works Grants Program.

Grants are available to:

  • build a new centre-based community preschool
  • extend an existing centre-based community preschool
  • renovate premises for a centre-based community preschool
  • purchase a motor vehicle for an existing mobile preschool
  • respond to a crisis situation with a capital works project.

Grants will be awarded through a competitive assessment process, with priority given to applications that demonstrate an increase of community preschool places particularly in areas of need and growing demand.

Check out the Start Strong Capital Works Program application guide and FAQs for more information about eligibility, application requirements and how to apply.

Applications close at midnight on 23 August 2020.
