NSW Early Learning Commission support for Operation Moonbi

The NSW Early Learning Commission is working closely with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to support their investigation.

The Commission expresses its deep sympathy to those impacted by the alleged offending related to the Australian Federal Police’s (AFP) Operation Moonbi and acknowledges the lifelong impact these events have on children and families.

The AFP dedicated local contact point for Operation Moonbi is now complete. Concerned families are able to contact the AFP via email at op-moonbi@afp.gov.au.

The Commission will continue to provide support, and anyone who has a concern or complaint about an early childhood education and care (ECEC) service is encouraged to contact the Commission on 1800 619 113 or email information@earlylearningcommission.nsw.gov.au.

The Commission can assist with concerns about an ECEC service not complying with the national law and regulations, including a service's:

  • physical environment
  • quality of education
  • interactions between staff and children including inappropriate behaviours or inappropriate discipline
  • operating without approval.
