Grow to learn, learn to grow
The grow to learn, learn to grow campaign promotes the importance of quality in early childhood education and school aged care services and helps families to understand the benefits of early childhood education and care.
21 April 2021
Background
Last year, the NSW Government developed the Brighter Beginnings initiative to improve the lives and experience of families in the first 2000 days (or first five years) of their child’s life.
Helping families understand why quality matters
A key message of the campaign is that positive outcomes for children attending early childhood education are directly related to quality in practice. The campaign encourages families to learn more about quality and ensures that parents and carers are making informed decisions when enrolling their child in early childhood education and care (ECEC).
The call to action for this campaign directs viewers to the new Early Childhood Education service finder website. The new ECE service finder assists families to locate a quality service close to them, addresses gaps in existing finders and provides user-friendly information about the National Quality Standard through the quality ratings graphic.
Your advocacy and discussions with families about quality ratings and your improvement plan will help increase the awareness of the life-long benefits of ECEC and the high level of expertise and professionalism that educators possess. To support your discussions, we have developed the following resources:
- Videos showcasing children, families, educators and health professionals talking about the life-long benefits of early childhood education.
- Conversations with families guide (PDF, 280KB) - to support your conversations with families about your quality rating and improvement plan.
- Family flyer (PDF, 166KB) - information handout for families.
- Poster (PDF, 166KB) - to display at your service to promote quality ratings.
