Aboriginal Cultural Safety Masterclass for Persons with Management or Control
Registrations are now open for free masterclass sessions across NSW.
12 May 2025

The NSW Department of Education, as the regulatory authority for early childhood education and care (ECEC), is committed to supporting the ECEC sector to provide services that are culturally responsive, safe and welcoming for Aboriginal children and their families.
As part of this commitment, the department is hosting a series of 5 in-person masterclasses across Sydney and regional NSW in June, where Persons with Management or Control (PMCs) will have the opportunity to reflect on their own lived experiences and deepen their understanding of cultural safety in the context of ECEC leadership.
About the Aboriginal Cultural Safety Masterclass for PMCs
The Aboriginal Cultural Safety Masterclass will support PMCs to make culturally informed decisions that positively influence service environments, relationships and outcomes for children and families.
PMCs will learn from experienced facilitators about the importance of Aboriginal cultural safety and how the Aboriginal Cultural Safety Framework can provide guidance and support for their services to roll out and embed culturally safe practices. The session recognises that Aboriginal cultural safety is an ongoing journey and the learning is continuous.
