What does the Schools Digital Strategy mean for our teaching staff?

Teachers will have access to professional development, support and resources to help them apply digital tools within the learning environment, with access to real-time data on student progress and models to improve student engagement.

Meet Elizabeth, she's a teacher at a secondary school. Elizabeth is always looking for ways to improve but the system is not always working with her.

(Voiceover - Elizabeth)

I love working with teenagers and I try to make each lesson interesting for them but it's often frustrating to find the right digital learning resources. It feels like we as teachers, waste valuable time searching for the same kind of things.

(Narration)

We are expanding the digital learning resource centre into a system-wide collaboration platform that encourages (the) sharing of innovative ideas and digital resources. This digital resource centre will be secure and accessible to any school, teacher or student.

(Voiceover - Elizabeth)

I'm a fan of the digital learning resource centre. I'm looking forward to the upgrade and being able to find the learning resources I need with a click of a button. The less time (I) have to spend searching, the more time I have to what I love, teaching.

(Narration)

The Schools Digital Strategy will ensure finding, using and displaying additional curriculum content is straightforward and the highest quality teaching and learning resources are accessible from anywhere. Digital literacy has increased dramatically. Learning environments are connected and digital technologies enhance collaborative learning.
