Abbey Sim

When I put my fingers to the keyboard, I can really visualise the landscapes in which I'm writing.

Writing means a lot to me. It's how I perceive the world.

I’ve been writing for pretty much as long as I can remember. When I was 3 years old, I wrote my first soap opera.

(Reading aloud) The Twilight was dim. A single bat flew overhead…

Both of my longer projects are about the idea of hope. I think it's something that is relevant in the human experience and I really wanted to explore that in somewhat everyday but also extraordinary settings.

By reading, you allow yourself to enjoy something that you’ve maybe never experienced before – especially new genres like fantasy and science fiction, which are really popular – experience something that nobody's really experienced before.
