What’s under way?
- Funding 100,000 fee-free apprenticeships and 70,000 fee-free traineeships
- Developing pathways programs for students from high school to vocational education and training
- Developing new education models, integrating vocational education and training and higher education, and working closely with employers and industry – making it easier for students to transition between school, tertiary education and employment
Staying on track
- Recent school leavers participating in higher education, training or work from 89.6% in 2018 to 91.6% by 2022 and to 93.6% by 2028.
Note: Percentages are listed as averages. Baseline numbers are from 2017 and 2018. Achieving these goals should lead to being the best performing state in Australia.
