Strategies and activities
The department promotes ethical behaviour throughout the organisation and works to minimise the risk of fraud and corruption in a number of ways, including:
- fraud and corruption prevention policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct, which gives guidance on how staff are expected to behave at work
- resources and provision of advice to assist staff to undertake fraud and corruption risk assessments in their areas of responsibility
- staff awareness and training programs, including the promotion of an intranet site, development of educational resources, and presentations and facilitated workshops to staff on ethical decision-making and other corruption prevention topics
- community and supplier awareness, including the statement of business ethics
- online form for staff to report suspected fraud and corrupt conduct.
What you should do
Instances of fraud and corrupt conduct put at risk the reputation not only of the staff involved but also the reputation of the department and public education and training more broadly.
If you suspect fraud and corrupt conduct in the department, you should report this to Employee Performance and Conduct (EPAC).
