Scholarships provide opportunities for research or study within Australia and overseas. Teacher education scholarships support students, including Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples, to graduate as teachers for NSW government schools in specified areas.
NSW Premier's Teacher Scholarships
The NSW Premier’s Teacher Scholarship program is an initiative of the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet administered by the NSW Department of Education. The annual program is open to teachers across NSW in government and non-government schools and pre-schools, as well as TAFE NSW colleges/campuses. The scholarships, funded by corporate supporters and private foundations, provide teachers with an opportunity to explore their field of expertise by visiting some of the world’s most highly acclaimed schools and centres for teaching and learning.
The scholarships provide $10,000 or $15,000 to undertake a five-week study tour overseas or within Australia. Applications for study tours in 2019 have now closed. Applications for scholarship-funded study tours in 2020 will open in early 2019.
