Rural Experience Program
The Rural Experience Program provides an opportunity for permanent teachers to take part in a short-term placement of 1 to 4 terms in a Rural and Remote school.
Placements are created by principals for the program. The placements are funded by the Rural and Remote Education initiative and are extra to the establishment at the host rural school.
Placements for 2018 commence from Term 3, 2018. As placements are confined to the school year, placements commencing at this time are limited to 2 terms. Placements commencing in 2019 are for 1 to 4 terms.
An allowance of $500 per week is available to teachers for the duration of the placement.
After the close of applications on 11 May 2018, principals of host Rural Experience schools, with assistance from their Director and the Human Resources team, decide the most suitable applicant/s. Offers are anticipated to be made by early June 2018.
