Scout training

This professional learning is designed for new and existing users to increase their knowledge of Scout functionality and to develop skills in navigating and understanding reports.

Training is available as face-to-face and Adobe Connect sessions for teachers and school leadership teams.

Understanding Scout - Adobe Connect sessions

This optional course is a 1-hour non-registered training session delivered via Adobe Connect designed for all Scout users in learning how to access and navigate Scout reports. This workshop is recommended for teachers looking to increase their familiarity with Scout.

This workshop will enable users to explore Scout reports through hands-on activities, introducing users to the reports available, the layout of Scout, navigational tools, and functionality to be able to use the reports effectively.

To enroll for this workshop, participants must have either completed the mandatory Scout Introduction - RG03295 online learning or already have access to Scout.

Scout for Schools - Business Intelligence for Education

This hands-on workshop provides school leaders with the opportunity to explore Scout reports that can assist with school planning, including NAPLAN and VALID results, as well school operations data.

Learn how to use Scout to assist with making evidence-based decisions.

The workshop covers:

  • user functionality and navigation through Scout apps and reports
  • using slicers and filters to view specific data
  • explanation and interpretation of reports
  • hands-on exploration of your reports using live data
  • overview of data governance.

Participants must have completed the mandatory MyPL module Scout Introduction - RG03295 and have access to Scout, prior to training. Allow 2 days after you have completed the module for access to be granted.

Workshops are available as closed or open sessions for leadership teams at the department's Parramatta office or remotely via Adobe Connect.
