Principals, school leaders and teachers can use this report to explore how the school has performed by Domains (e.g. Reading & Numeracy) and view performance by syllabus, stage and syllabus outcome. Directors, Educational Leadership and Executive Directors can view all schools within their network.


How can I use this report?

The report allows provides school performance in each item of the Check-in assessment by stage and syllabus outcomes. The report compares school performance against SSSG and DoE State.

What should I look for?

The report provides school performance by individual questions and view question-level details. You can analyse the learning progression indicators to identify what school was able to demonstrate during the assessment. Schools can use this report to view performance compared to statistically similar schools and DoE state.

Using the report

Select the results you want

The slicers at the top of the report allow you to select the results you want to be displayed.

Step 1 is required for data to be shown in the report.

Select a school and check you have the scholastic year you wish to view results for, e.g. Year 5.

Step 2 is optional and allows for further refining by enrolment groups, EAL/D, Gender and/or Aboriginality if you want to do so.

If you do not make any selections in Step 2, the report will continue to show all results available to you under each of these categories.

View the charts

Your selections will automatically be applied to all charts.

School Summary

This section of report will provide quick snapshot with number of students participated in the assessment and % of questions correct of the school compared to statistically similar schools and the State DoE for each domain.

Scaled scores are based on weighted average of questions asked in domain and compared against school, SSSG and state. Number of student participated in the assessment will be show indicating if the too few students participated.

Note: Scaled scores will be available after the assessment window and scaled scoring is complete for all schools.

School Comparison to SSSG & State

This bar charts display band and band category distribution in Reading and Numeracy by percentage of students of the school in each band/ band group (bottom 2, middle 2 and top 2 bands) compared to the % of students of SSSG and state for each domain of the selected scholastic year:

School Level Growth

This column chart displays Average scaled growth – School compared to statistically similar school (SSSG) and state for each domain of the selected scholastic year:

Student Growth

This table presents information on growth from either Year 3 NAPLAN to Year 5 Check-in assessment or Year 7 NAPLAN to Year 9 Check-in assessment.

Note: Growth results for students who have very high or very low prior scores must be interpreted with caution due to the way these indicators are calculated. 

Highlight and hover

You can click on a particular region of the chart to cross-highlight similar information throughout the rest of the display.

Hover over any segment of graph will bring up a brief summary with domain and school growth:

Export data

You can download the results in this report for further analysis using the ‘More Options’ tab, which appears when you hover above the top right of some charts. Click on the three dots, or ellipsis, to bring up the menu, then select ‘Export data’.

Reset to default

If you wish to remove selections you have made and return to the initial view of the report, select ‘Reset to default’.
