The school Psychologist Scholarship Program supports high achieving psychology graduates to complete a Master of Professional Psychology program and become school psychologists working in rural, regional or metropolitan NSW public schools.

Graduates will gain valuable knowledge and experience under the guidance and supervision of Senior Psychologists Education, School Psychologists, and School Counsellors.

Rural Scholarship Program

Master of Professional Psychology (School Psychology) at Charles Sturt University

Rural scholarships support psychology graduates to complete the Master of Professional Psychology (School Psychology) at Charles Sturt University, and become a permanent school psychologist working in rural and remote NSW public schools.

Graduates will gain valuable knowledge under the guidance and supervision of experienced school counsellors in schools.

The Rural Scholarship Program offers:

  • Up to $30,000 tuition allowance for full-time, full fee paying students
  • Up to $6,000 appointment allowance
  • $1,500 textbook and incidentals allowance
  • Supervised practicum placements in schools
  • Supervised internship
  • Induction program
  • Ongoing employment as a school psychologist in NSW public schools in areas of workforce need upon satisfactory completion of the Master of Professional Psychology (School Psychology) program.

The Graduate Scholarship supports psychology graduates to complete the Master of Professional Psychology (School Psychology) at the University of Wollongong, and become a permanent school psychologist working in NSW public schools.

Graduates will gain valuable knowledge under the guidance and supervision of experienced school counsellors in schools.

Rural and Metropolitan scholarships are available and include:

  • Up to $30,000 tuition allowance for full-time, full fee-paying students
  • Up to $2,000 appointment allowance for metropolitan scholarships and up to $6,000 for rural scholarships
  • $1,500 textbook and incidentals allowance
  • Supervised practicum placements in schools
  • Induction program
  • Supervised internship and ongoing employment as a school psychologist in NSW public schools in areas of workforce need upon satisfactory completion of the Master of Professional Psychology (School Psychology) program

School Counsellor in Training Program

Master of Psychological Practice (School Psychology) Charles Sturt University

If you have an existing Teaching qualification you can apply for a two-year program to become a school counsellor.

School counsellors in training receive:

  • full-time teaching salary
  • tuition fees paid
  • paid accommodation expenses to attend compulsory face-to-face university intensives where overnight accommodation is necessary
  • a Master of Psychological Practice (School Psychology) from Charles Sturt University upon successful completion of the course
  • a permanent school counselling position in a NSW public school in an area of workforce need.
