Premier's Anika Foundation Youth Depression Awareness Scholarships
These scholarships are open to teachers, Head Teachers - Student Welfare, School counsellors and health, physical education and personal development teachers currently teaching students at risk of youth depression within NSW schools and TAFE NSW campuses.
Applicants should focus on preventing depression in young people or building awareness of youth depression. Applicants should incorporate a Black Dog Institute course into their proposal as well as strategies for dealing with, or referring on young people who may be suffering from depression.
The successful applicant will undertake a study tour for up to five weeks in Australia and/or overseas with travel to be completed by 30 June 2021. Time need not all be spent in formal study but may involve a program of visits to schools and institutions to conduct interviews, observe exemplary practices and collect resources for the preparation of teaching materials related to a specific aspect of youth depression awareness.
Two scholarships of $15,000 each will be offered for travel during 2021.
