Placement details

Terms 1 - 4, 2023 (Applicants can request a shorter duration in their application).

Role description: The placement will be tailored dependent on the skillset of the applicant. It could be having their own class, implementing intervention programs, RFF or opportunities to explore and lead whole school programs relating to our school priority areas.

Additional commitments: Participation in extra-curricular activities based on interest is welcomed. Naradhan Public School works in close collaboration with other schools in the local area and is an active member of the Rural Innovative Educators’ Network (RIEN). Involvement in this network provides access to additional learning experiences and opportunities for students and staff. The team provides staff with regular opportunities to participate in quality professional learning to improve teacher quality, and outcomes for all our students, building on the West Wyalong network priorities.

Desired candidate expertise:

  • Approval to teach K-6
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively in a team and build positive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and delivering high quality, differentiate teaching and learning programs with an emphasis on student engagement.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to implement the department's Aboriginal education policy to enhance quality outcomes for all Aboriginal students.

Accommodation details

Naradhan is located 34 km from Lake Cargelligo and 36 km from Rankins Springs on sealed roads. Accommodation in those towns could include:

  • Granny flat style accommodation on farming properties
  • Share accommodation with other teachers
  • Rental houses
  • Motel accommodation

Other options include renting in surrounding communities such as Griffith which is 100km and West Wyalong 127km. Options may include:

  • Rental houses/units
  • Shared accommodation

Staff at Naradhan Public School live both in the community and in the surrounding communities making ride-sharing a possibility.

Please note: Teacher Housing availability can depend upon a variety of factors, including vacancy status and potential priority offers to other staff with full time rural appointments. Teacher Housing Authority (THA) may not be able to confirm allocation of properties until all applications have been received and processed. Applicants are encouraged to discuss property availability directly with THA. Participants of the Rural Experience Program are not eligible for the Housing Rental Subsidy but may rent a property (at market value) through the THA if available.

School details

Naradhan Public School currently has 12 students from K – 6. We split into two groups for Literacy and Numeracy with 5 students in K-2 and 7 students in 3-6. We currently employ an SLSO five days per week. We cater for the individual needs of all students, supporting those in need of intervention support.

We have a highly motivated staff, committed to improving learning outcomes for all students. We have plans in place for a native garden/outdoor learning centre.

All students have access to a laptop device. We have had access to a range of programmable robots for technology classes
